We are closer to Easter, and with it we are closer to the inevitable cooking and coloring of the Easter eggs. Believe it or not, there is a way to easily peel boiled eggs and to avoid the creation of that ugly green color that appears in the egg yolk. Despite the opinion that most of us have, the green color does not come because of stale eggs. It occurs because of improper cooking of the eggs.

1. Eggs that are fresh will be more difficult to peel. Always collect (buy) the eggs at least a week before and refrigerate ..
2. Best results are obtained if take out the eggs from the refrigerator before cooking and let them equalize the temperature with an indoor (this will prevent the eggs burst due to the difference in temperature).
3. Put the eggs into a larger container,  to be in a single layer, and fill with water so that the water surface is at least 2.5cm above the eggs.
4. Put on the fire and let the water boil. As soon as the water boils, remove from heat and cover. Let stand in warm water 12 minutes exactly.

After the expiration of the specified time, drain the water, and pour on the eggs cold water with ice cubes (rapid cooling stops the cooking process that is still going on inside the egg). Leave them for 10 minutes in cold water, then drain and place in the refrigerator.

Painting in a natural way

This year you can try to paint Easter eggs with natural ingredients:

Pale red: beetroot juice or cranberry
Orange: onions peel
Yellow: solution of turmeric (curry), orange peel
Pale green: solution of cooked spinach
Blue: solution of blueberries
Purple: solution of red cabbage
Beige to brown: coffee

Put eggs into boiling solvents mentioned before that you have in addition to the above fruits, vegetables and spices and add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. If you want to be a bolder color, leave the egg in a solution overnight.

Painting with onion peel

Painting eggs in onion is very simple, but should remember it a few weeks before Easter to provide a sufficient amount of onion peel. So, what is required is peel of 1-2 kg of onions.

Place the onion crust in a pot, fill with water, stir a little with your hand, and slop this first water. Then pour as much water as you will need the eggs in a saucepan to be completely submerged.
When the water is boiling, reduce the heat and allow to boil for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, slowly immerse the eggs into this solution. Cook the eggs as desired (best around 10-15 minutes). After cooking, drain the eggs and oil them a little bit.
